Mangrove Outfitters schedules half and full day trips with two anglers per boat, and our guides are all Coast Guard licensed, fully insured and use backcountry skiffs. All of our guides are experienced in spin and bait fishing as well as fly fishing, and most specialize in one or more areas. We have some who love fly fishing; others may enjoy night fishing, fishing from canoes or certain species of fish. Let us know what your fishing preference is and we'll do our best to match you with the perfect guide.

Mangrove Outfitters can set you up for great fishing in the backcountry with some of Naples ' best-known guides. Our guides have been fishing the area for years and know just where the fish are. We also have certified F.F.F. casting instructors. All of the equipment you need will be provided; however, if you prefer to use your own, bring an 8-9# for snook, redfish, sea trout, etc. Be sure to bring 10-11 # for big tarpon, etc. Make sure you have polarized sunglasses, a long sleeve shirt, sun block, and a hat.

We are proud to be associated with some of the best-known Naples fly fishing guides in the region. These men have met the mark, and are "tournament tested". They'll take you fishing anywhere from the Ten Thousand Islands and Everglades National Park south of Naples, to Pine Island, Estero Bay, Sanibel and Captiva Islands to the north, all to provide the perfect outing for you. The guides listed below have a vast knowledge of Southwest Florida waters, as well as the fish that swim in them.




Owner and operator of Mangrove Outfitters Fly Shop, Tom fishes for redfish, snook, tarpon and more out of the Naples area and the Ten Thousand Islands.

A quiet, soft-spoken guide, Tom is a career F.F.F. Certified Casting Instructor. His patience is unique and his love is to help people catch that first fish on fly. Tom is an Umpqua contract fly tier and tying instructor, so you never know what flies he may bring along.  Guided winning team in 1999 Redsnook fly fishing division.  You will be fishing out of a 1997 Hewes flats skiff. Powered by Yamaha, he can accommodate one or two anglers. Sage Fly Rods, Islander Reels, and Hewes boats endorse Tom.




Captain Jeff Legutki

Capt. Jeff is a native of Naples and has fished the waters around Naples down to the Everglades National Park his entire life. And after spending countless hours north from Pine Island and through to Estero Bay for numerous tournaments he has now expanded his chartered waters comfortably knowing where the fish are! Capt  Jeff is a sight fishing specialist who fishes 1-2 anglers out of a 16' Hells Bay Whipray for fly fishing and plug casting. If its bait fishing you prefer, Jeff fishes out of a 1890 Action Craft and can take up to 3 per. He supplies all equipment & license needed for an excellent trip.  

A day of fishing with friends and Jeff's enthusiasm and knowledge can make that day even better. We are very happy to have Jeff on the Mangrove Outfitters Endorsed Guides program.




Fishing since he could walk, Rob has a lifetime of memories already! With over 25 years experience in South Florida he guides from Estero Bay to the Keys. Always on the move and not limiting himself to one area he has the knowledge to get you to the fish. A proven tournament winner with the 2001 Redbone@Large Everglades City - "Guide to Grand Champion Angler", "Largest Tarpon", "Top Rod Angler", "Top Celebrity Angler Runner up" and "Top Celebrity Angler Day 2"! Capt. Rob has also won the 1998 Florida Keys Cheeca Redbone "Guide to the largest Redfish", the 1999 Collier County RedSnook "3rd Place Team Champions Guide", 2005 Redsnook most snook releases (52 in 2 days), 2004 3rd place Redsnook Y-Fly, and 2003 Redfish Tour 3rd place Key Largo. He also prides himself in multiple IGFA certified Grand Slams.

His 18 ft. Hewes Redfisher powered by a 115 H.P Yamaha motor has the speed and dependability to get to the fish. The boat is equipped with Sage Rods and Finor Reels in varying weights from 7 to 12. He prides himself in tying all his flies and always testing new patterns. An Everglades National Park licensed guide he is patient with all levels of anglers and always willing to answer any questions.



Captain Eric Hart

Captain Eric (The Red) Hart moved to Naples Fl in 2003 from the mountains of Colorado where he guided Fly Fishing on some of the countries most prestine gold medal streams. After a few years of vacationing in south west florida Eric decided it was time to get back to the salt water were he learnd to fish on the coast of New Jersey . With the salt water back in his blood Capt. Eric has made shallow water fly fishing his greatest passion. Fly or light tackle Capt. Eric offers the best options for both beginner and expert anglers.

 With his 17ft Mitzi ST he can pole as skinny as you'll ever need to go.Your primary targets will be Tarpon, Snook and Redfish, as well as Trout, Tripletail, Cobia and the tackle busting Jack Crevalle. Depending on where the fishing is hot you will be fishing either Ten Thousand Islands launching from the town of Goodland just south of Marco Island , Estero Bay just north of Naples in Bonita Springs or Pine Island Sound which is located south of Ft Meyers close to Sanibel Island .



Captain Ned Small

A life long fly rodder, Capt. Ned Small grew up fishing for stripers in the tidal rivers of Cape Cod and spent many years in the Delaware Valley fishing dry flies for trout. A family passion for fly fishing, particularly tarpon and other salt water species, led him to Everglades City, on Florida 's mangrove coast. Capt. Ned spends over two hundred days on the water each year finding his way into some of the most exciting fly and light tackle fishing in the area and has the specialized equipment and back country knowledge to put you on some big fish in some very shallow water.
     
  Capt. Ned lives at the northern entrance to Everglades National Park, Everglades City , in a stilt house on Panther Creek. He fishes a few tournaments each year, ties mostly his own flies and practices catch and release (with a few edible exceptions.) His boats are kept at the dock behind his house where you can be on the water in minutes.




Captain Bill Faulkner

Capt. Bill Faulkner is a south Florida native who has been fishing the Naples area for nearly 30 years. His vast experience, intimate knowledge and enthusiastic demeanor often lead his clients to the most remote reaches of the Everglades National Park in search of trophy snook, tarpon and redfish on fly rods of all sizes. Capt. Bill specializes in sight fishing the shallow coves, creeks, ponds and bays south of Everglades City where four (4) of the seven (7) current world record snook have been caught on fly in the last decade.

Capt. Bill is also an outdoor writer and photographer with credits in many of the industry's most respected publications. He has served as Fishing and Outdoors Editor for the Naples Daily News, as Editor for Florida Sport Fishing Magazine and is currently listed as a contributing editor for Florida Sportsman Magazine. He also has been featured on several regional and national television shows and spends a portion of the year touring the southeastern United States seeking highly-prized redfish on the FLW/Wal-Mart and ESPN Redfish Tours.



Captain John Stark

Capt. John has a passion for the backcountry and its tannic waters. Having fished all over Florida he decided to make the remote waters of the 10,000 islands and Everglades National Park his fishing grounds. Having taught high school and working as a consultant using his degrees in Biology from Wake Forest University and the University of Texas at San Antonio . He prefers the quiet classroom of the Everglades from his perch above the motor of his Hells Bay Flats Boat and a large 22' fiberglass push pole has replaced his chalk. Using his knowledge from the classroom coupled with his patience from six years of teaching he has learned the Everglades and some of it haunts over the years.

Having won a few tournaments such as the Largest Youth Guided Snook in the Gene Doyle Tournament 2002; Largest slot redfish in the Jug Creek Tarpon Invitational 2003 as well as placing in other local tournaments Capt. John has enjoyed being a contributing writer for a local magazine as well as Florida Sportfishing magazine.
